The riff on Emotion sums up the rave sound for me....feckin tune!

DJing at an illegal rave in Boscastle in '91, geezer from up country had few copies of these he was selling, asked me2play it, begrudgingly checked it, sounded surprisingly dope, whacked it in the mix, rocked the fucking house + still caning it nearly 30yrs later. Managed2walk off with the 12" too ????p.s. where the hell do the stabs come from?
Buridora
nope vocals and drums only sorry - did you find out? could be a synth patch rather than a f***-d up sample of a "real" instrument i guess
Modred
ha, i've come here trying to find that out - the stabs on feel the rhythm, right? they were much used, there's another track of similar vintage i never knew the name of ....will try whosampled...

This EP is absolutely seminal, For anyone who was raving in 1991 they will have heard at least 3 tracks from this EP.I was more in to the Belgium/Dutch hardcore from 1991 but this EP expanded my mind, Feel The Rhythm, Is This Real & Emotion are tracks so far ahead of their time, even Nu Generation is a phat tune, this is easily one of the best releases of 1991 - BUY IT, The production, arrangement and quality of the tunes is amazing, it still sounds amazing over 27 years later. For just £6 you can own one of the best 12"'s ever released in 1991 and arguably EVER in the rave scene. The fact almost 1200 Discogs members own this 12" shows just how well received and loved this piece of wax was!

Bragis
Breakbeat Hardcore isn't my first choice but listened to this EP literally 2 minutes ago and was blown away. The energy is timeless.
Wyameluna
A wonderful and beautifully produced EP that showcases the mash-up of different musical styles that characterised early hardcore rave. 'Feel the Rhythm' is the best-known track on the EP and is rightly considered a classic. All four tracks are strong but my favourite is the haunting closing number 'Emotion'.
Nejind

"emotion" has to be one of the best tunes of 91 taken from one of the best eps from that year or any year
Authis

I cant believe nobody has written a review of this amazing 4 track EP. B1 - 128 bpm nice ragga style vibe with the mc chanting away and lovely woman vocal line running through. Crisp simple but nice amen breaks and bass. B2 - 128bpm very similair amen break, this time with the typical 91 style synth stabs and lovely "all it takes is a little emotion" woman vocal line. A few other samples and different sections to this track, works very well. A1 - 128bpm starts with classic 91 stabs, and imo this is one of the best tracks of 1991. The "listen to the bassline talk" vocal line followed by very nice bassline riff, coupled with the synth stabs makes for a great vibe. Lots of different sections keep interest, and lots of other small vocal samples appear throughout the track. A2 - 128bpm starts with amazing "you are the new new generation" vocal line, and nice mellow synth riff. This for me is the best tune on the EP, quality all the way through. Nice beats, nice bassline, plenty of different sections & drops to keep interest but its the actual whole overall vibe of the track that works so well, and probably one of the best oldskool hardcore tunes of all time. Overall this is a must-have EP for any oldskool hardcore fan.
