In 1987, the band released the first half, Keeper of the Seven Keys Pt 1. Today, Keeper of the Seven Keys Pt 1 is regarded as not only one of power metal's first albums, but also one of its finest. Unsurprisingly, superb mel. In 1987 Helloween released their second album. The main difference to their first output Walls of Jericho lies in the change of the vocalist. Instead of Kai Hansen, who did vocals and guitars on the first album, Michael Kiske filled in this part of the band. The Album starts with a short Intro called Initiation. This intro sounds a little like the one on Walls of Jericho with fanfares and mystic touch. The intro leads to the track I' alive. Helloween is the longest track on this firt Keeper of the Seven Keys part. More than 10 minutes showing all the facettes the sound of Helloween has to deserve. Slow parts change to fast parts. Dark vocals change to high sreams and shouts. When you combine the two albums into the full Keeper of the Seven Keys album, there are some great tracks. Future World and I Want Out are both bombastic German Power Metal anthems with a driving beat and great hook riffs, while Halloween and Keeper of the Seven Keys are long and winding stories in the vein of some of the best of the epic 'Maiden storytelling songs. An inspired and spiritual performance like few back then, only surpass by Keeper part 2. Helloween is even today one of the most influential metal bands , and here you see why.
