Release Date: December 31, 2009 Genre: Progressive ElectronicElectronica Track Count: 8 Running Time: 59 minutes Catalog No. AMC10020 Dieter Moebius has had top billing on 38 albums over the course of his 40-year career, including some of the era's most influential recordings. Listening to BLOTCH, and acknowledging Roedelius' later-period piano-based minimalist works, Moebius seems to have been the one who twirled the knobs. Radiating through the stereophonic ooze are rotational particles attempting to form rhythms, melodies frozen in liquid nitrogen, and sounds that are certainly not of this earth. Bureau B. Dieter Moebius - Ondulation from the album Blotch. Moebius 16 January 1944 20 July 2015 was a Swiss-born German electronic musician and composer, best known as a member of the influential krautrock bands Cluster and Harmonia. Moebius was studying art at Berlin's Akademie Grafik and working as a restaurant cook when he met Conrad Schnitzler, founder of the Zodiak Free Arts Lab with Hans-Joachim Roedelius. The trio founded the improv group Kluster in 1969. After the departure of Schnitzler, the duo changed their name to Cluster and relocated. Exclusive discount for Prime members. Sample this album Artist Sample. The album sounds are mainly synthesizer, electronically altered speech and electronic drums. If you like Cluster circa Grosses Wasser and Curiosum this is in the same vein of ambient pulsings that continue through to Qua and Live in Berlin. The tracks vary in length from 4 to 12 minutes. Blotch features lengthy tracks and a few unorthodox choices in instruments. Nurton contains shorter tracks and is built on the idea that Dieter Moebius isolated a few select flaws and turned them into 14 pieces. What these flaws were and how one would differentiate them from the sounds Moebius created intentionally, I do not know. But one thing is for sure - neither of these releases plays out like Tonspuren. The smiling melodies are gone. Dieter Moebius has instead plopped you down in the middle of the industrial wasteland of his mind. Call me crazy, but getting to know this plac
