So it was with Alex and Tokyo Roses Akuma in 2017 and so it is again with the duos latest production marvel, Akuma II. In just two short years, the artists first effort has shifted from a dark and avant-garde creation at the outer edges of the synthwave genre to an unremarkable recording that neither fits within the scope of modern darksynth nor offers anything particularly meaningful to remember it by. For fans who first heard the album on its release, theres barely a single song on it worth revisiting in 2019. Why Darksynth Deserves its Own Genre. Why are his vynils so expensive? I am new to vinyl, and a new album from queen or whatwever is around 30 EUR
Bad Sunny
These ones are pressed by much smaller labels and in much smaller quantities, which is why the price is so much higher. A Queen record, like you mentioned, is much more popular and pressed far more often and with greater numbers per pressing, which is why its cheaper
The person trying to flip this for $125 can go to hell. "Album may be repressed on regular black vinyl." The album is going to get pressed again so don't support these people trying to take advantage of others.
lets go baby
repress coming in July... many many more words needed
I totally agree with your mate, lets hope they go out of business. screw em.
Whatever helps you sleep at night bud. Try to justify it however you want but that doesn't make it right. Especially when Floral Shoppe continues to pop up for order to this day after a batch sells out. You say you let the market determine value yet Floral Shoppe had no sale history when you sold your copies so you set the price gouging in motion. You obviously have your mind made up about the subject so having a conversation with you will go nowhere.
digytal soul
I don't put values on what I end up selling, the market does. If I want to buy low and sell high, then so be it. As for Floral Shoppe, my copies arrived in the mail and I shipped them out. If someone can't be bothered to buy from the Bandcamp Pre-Order page that was up for days (if not weeks) then that falls on them. If someone values that record at 60-90$ (the prices I sold them at), then again, that simply falls on them as a buyer and not on me. My prices are fair and are typically below the average value.
worldlessmusic Romanticore was selling two copies of Macintosh Plus - Floral Shoppe for $60 each. Everyone hasn't even received their copies yet and they are trying to flip two of them so yes they were defending the same thing they do. There is also a difference between an album that just released and people are still getting in the mail and something that has been out of print for 5 years. Someone who buys multiple copies of a release only to sell immediately after receiving them without even listening to the record are just being nasty and taking advantage of others. Many times the album in question will still be purchasable on many sites if the person trying to buy it knows where to look. Of course the re sellers don't mention this or take this into account when they are trying to sell it for 3 times the price. Luckily there are good people that will post those links to warn others before they pay the outrageous price. You can try to make whatever excuses you want but the bottom line is they are doing it purely for money and have 0 interest in the music. Also this album is almost certainly getting a repress as it states that on the product page where this variant was purchased.   Mastersnacks I could value any album at $1,000 but that doesn't mean that is what it is worth. Listing it for $120 and hoping a buyer that doesn't know about the repress isn't the same thing as actual value. That is just seeing how much you can squeeze out of someone.
it might be a bad price in your eyes and mine, but its actually okay. its a free market and discogs is a record selling site where people can choose to sell most whatever records they want and for whatever price they want. if someone decides "yeah i'll sell it for 125 dollars" then they can do so. many people will be smart enough to look past that, but if someone wants to buy it, then go ahead. that's not mentioning the fact that it "may be repressed". keyword being "may". its not a definite for your honestly hilarious argument that anyone deciding against you is a person who does the same, i've recently bought a tape from one of these people for only two dollars more than the original price. also viewing other peoples accounts, they sell things from 3-20 dollars. if you call even a 10 dollar markup price gouging, i don't know why you're short if people want to flip it for ahundred dollars, they can but they likely won't end up selling it.
How is it hilarious? Do you honestly believe it is all right to price gouge when a repress is most likely coming? The only reason you would even care is because you do it yourself...
This dude is hilarious. All he does is moan about resellers.
I already bought it directly from NRW so no big loss for me.
I mean how would discogs even be a site if people didn't sell records on it??
I am waiting for the repress as I have purchased many other things at the moment. I say this about things I own as well. Trying to flip something for 4 times the price immediately after release is a dick move.
Mitars Riders
Nice, the only sane reason someone would defend a re seller is if they were one themselves.
Why is it always you? Aren`t you man enough to place a preorder? You have problems with that, wait for a repress if scheduled.Your hate is not needed....By the way, this record was not sold out very fast.
